DiJonai Carrington watched on as Courtney Vandersloot and the Chicago Sky suffered a fourth straight loss on Thursday, dropping to 15-26 on the 2026 WNBA season after a 110-80 loss to Shakira Austin and the Washington Mystics . Now, the Sky will look to snap their losing streak, hitting the road to take on Angel Reese and the Atlanta Dream on Saturday night.
Carrington has been solid during her first year in Chicago, averaging 8.8 points, 3.1 rebounds and 0.6 assists in 16.2 minutes per game coming off the bench. However, the former Connecticut Sun guard has been limited to just 11 games during the 2026 season.
Before the season began, Carrington underwent ankle surgery that sidelined her for the first 27 games. But after returning to the court, she began dealing with a similar injury.

Carrington made her season debut in the Sky's win over the Connecticut Sun on July 30. But after playing 11 games, she suffered a flare-up in her foot early in the August 25 loss to the Sun, forcing her to leave the game after just four minutes of action. And the issue proved to be enough to keep Carrington out for the August 29 loss to the New York Liberty , the final game before the WNBA break.
Upon the league's return, Carrington was ruled out yet again for the loss to the Mystics, despite having over two weeks off. And on Friday, Chicago announced that Carrington will be out once again for Saturday's matchup against Atlanta, marking the third straight game she will miss.
Along with Carrington, guards Skylar Diggins and Azura Stevens remain out with serious knee injuries, while Natasha Cloud enters the Dream matchup questionable with a left knee issue.
Carrington could return in the Sky's next matchup on September 22 against the Toronto Tempo , but with just three games left and already eliminated from playoff contention, they could keep her out as well.
The Sky will face the Dream on Saturday at 7 p.m. ET.
