KANSAS CITY, Mo. — After wide receiver Rashee Rice was officially ruled out for Sunday's game , the Kansas City Chiefs wasted no time in adding depth to their wide receiver room.
The Chiefs have elevated wide receivers Justin Watson and Andrew Armstrong from the practice squad.

Watson is a familiar face to the kingdom, having spent three seasons in Kansas City before playing for the Houston Texans in 2025. His experience with the Chiefs' offense could be valuable entering Sunday's divisional matchup.
Throughout his first stint in Kansas City, Watson played in 50 games, recording 64 receptions for 1,064 yards and seven touchdowns.
Armstrong, an undrafted rookie out of Arkansas, also gets the nod. The elevation could put him in line to make his NFL regular-season debut.
During the preseason, Armstrong played three games and tallied seven receptions for 85 yards and five first downs.

The moves come as the Chiefs' deal with injuries at wide receiver, with Rice ruled out as previously mentioned and Tyquan Thornton being placed on injury reserve after sustaining a dislocated ankle.
It's unclear how much playing time either receiver will get on Sunday, but both provide additional options for quarterback Patrick Mahomes as Kansas City looks to get revenge on the 0-5 Los Angeles Chargers after being swept by them last year.
The game is set to kickoff at 3:25 p.m. on Sunday, Oct. 18, at Arrowhead Stadium.
