The Kansas City Chiefs are gearing up for a huge AFC West matchup on Sunday vs. the undefeated Las Vegas Raiders . And it looks like they may be getting an important piece back for the game.
The Chiefs released their initial Week 4 injury report on Wednesday. It was fairly good news across the board, with only two guys not practicing in full. Tackle Josh Simmons didn't practice with a back issue, and defensive back L'Jarius Sneed was limited with a knee injury. Sneed was limited all of last week and played in the Miami game.
The best news of the day came from the status of defensive back Chamarri Conner . He practiced without any limitations on Wednesday, the first time he's done that all season. The 26-year-old has missed the first three games of the season with a knee issue, but it looks like he could make his 2026 debut this Sunday.
Conner is coming off a career year in 2025, where he amassed 117 total tackles, two sacks, two forced fumbles, and an interception. He's set to play a big role in the newly assembled Kansas City secondary. And if he plays on Sunday, he'll most likely be tasked with slowing down Brock Bowers .
The Raiders' young superstar tight end made his season debut last week. catching ten passes for 116 yards and a touchdown in Week 3. He's a matchup nightmare for any defense he faces. Steve Spagnuolo will count on a bunch of different guys to try to slow him down. Conner could be a huge part of that if he's available.
Spagnuolo could play three safeties at once, with Conner, Alohi Gilman , and Jaden Hicks all involved. That could help limit Bowers' ability to take over the game, which will be paramount if the Chiefs want to get a win.
Even if he can't play on Sunday, Conner returning to practice is a great sign that his return is imminent. The Chiefs will be happy to welcome him back when he's ready to go.
