SEATTLE — The Washington Huskies football team entered training camp with there still being question at several positions on the offense.

One of the most notable questions pertained to wide receiver, specifically who would be tasked with the tall over of taking second-round 2026 NFL Draft pick Denzel Boston.
Boston, a 6-foot-4, 215-pound receiver who led the Huskies with 62 receptions for 881 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2025, is currently making a solid impression in training camp with the Cleveland Browns .
While Boston is establishing himself at the NFL level, the Huskies are still attempting to find his replacement.
Washington was unable to find Boston's replacement in the spring due to a series of injuries to the receiver room that kept several pass-catchers out for either portions or the entirety of the spring.

One of the players who missed all of spring was sixth-year wide receiver and Kennesaw State transfer Christian Moss, who came into the program being viewed in a positive light by the coaching staff.
"He was on our list of guys that we were looking for," wide receivers coach Kevin Cummings said after a practice Wednesday at Husky Stadium.
Moss, listed at 6-foot-3, 205 pounds, Cummings and the rest of the Huskies staff early on in the transfer portal. Once he was granted a sixth-year eligibility waiver from the NCAA, Cummings picked up the phone almost immediately.
"Literally an hour into me getting (the waiver), I got the call from (Cummings) and set up a visit and everything just worked out," Moss said after Huskies practice Wednesday.

Moss also took visits with Ohio State , Kansas and Stanford , but called his trip to the Pacific Northwest "by far" his best visit, crediting the coaching staff and returning third-year quarterback Demond Williams Jr.
The connection with Williams has been something that has been noticeably improved in fall training camp. Following his injury in spring ball, it became all the more crucial for Moss to work during the down time during the summer, which is exactly what he's done.
Moss has dived headfirst in the playbook and is now comfortable playing all either outside receiver spot or in the slot. That comfortability with the playbook and positioning has made him one of the most consistent and reliable targets for Williams in the fall.
"It was very unfortunate me missing spring," Moss said. "But (Williams) is a smart guy, he's very talented. It didn't really take us long to click. He's helped me learning the playbook. This summer really helped doing 7-on-7, PRPs. We kind of just instantly clicked and every day we just keep getting better."

In his college career, Moss had stops at Virginia Tech and Kennesaw State and went through a series of coaching changes and injuries, the latter of which led to his waiver for a sixth season.
Despite this, Moss was able to post a career season last year at Kennesaw State. He reeled in 45 catches for 689 yards and two touchdowns.
Moss likely won't have to take all of the workload vacated by Boston's departure. Fourth-year pass-catcher Rashid Williams has also developed into a reliable target this offseason and second-year receiver Dezmen Roebuck has been a consistent weapon in the spring and fall.

However, the deep threat is a crucial part not only to Demond Williams' success, but to the overall offense's ability as well, and Moss is looking more than comfortable to step up in that role this season.
