If there is one area in which the Clemson Tigers are absolutely loaded heading into the 2026 college football season, it's at wide receiver.
Clemson boasts a phenomenal one-two punch of T.J. Moore and Bryant Wesco and has depth pieces like Tyler Brown and Tristan Smith supplementing the dynamic duo. What's more, the Tigers have three four-star freshmen in Naeem Burroughs , Gordon Sellars and Connor Salmin, all of whom could get playing time.
But there is one more veteran receiver who has gotten lost in the shuffle: Cole Turner .
Turner arrived at Clemson in 2022 and has totaled 43 catches for 562 yards and a couple of touchdowns throughout his time with the program.
Last season, the 6-foot-1 weapon logged 16 grabs for 144 yards. He then missed the Tigers' Pinstripe Bowl loss to Penn State due to a lower-body injury that required surgery.
And now, Turner is absent from fall camp.

Head coach Dabo Swinney provided an update on Turner this week, and it doesn't sound like Turner will be back anytime soon.
"He practiced the first day [of camp]. He's been gone since the first day," Swinney said, via The Clemson Insider . "I'm not sure when he'll be back. We're just kind of supporting him in the situation he's dealing with right now."
Team spokesman Ross Taylor told The Clemson Insider that Turner is "still part of the program, but stepped away in early camp with the program's support to attend to some personal matters."
There hasn't been any further details on the situation, and there doesn't have to be. Clearly, Turner is dealing with his own life circumstances at the moment.
If he does ultimately return to the field at some point in 2026, he could potentially carve out a role in the Tigers' aerial attack.
Turner is certainly not as electrifying as Moore nor Wesco, nor does he have the potential of Burroughs. But he is a sure-handed, versatile weapon capable of big plays, as evidenced by his solid lifetime average of 13.1 yards per reception.
Hopefully, Turner is able to get back soon. More importantly, let's hope the youngster is alright.
