There is still a list of teams waiting to see if LeBron James takes a chance on them next season, but nobody knows when he'll make his decision. In all honesty, some would be willing to wait however long they need to for someone like James, even at the age of 41.
It's a lot that he can bring to a team, and it's safe to say he can be the missing piece that some are looking for. While others see the positive in what James can bring to their squad, Colin Cowherd has found a negative in his game that should steer them another way.
"LeBron will make you a worse defensive team. Slowest player in the NBA last year was James Harden … the second slowest player, LeBron James ," Cowherd said. "If he goes to Cleveland , they will be a worse team in terms of defensively, and they weren't very good last year, even with rim protection. Will LeBron make you better in close games? Yes. Cleveland was lousy in close games, but against the Knicks , the average margin of victory was 20 points. The Knicks will blow you out with LeBron."

At this point in his career, nobody is expecting James to be the fastest player on the court, and his basketball IQ can make up for that side of the floor. If James is truly a negative on defense like Cowherd claims, then teams will just have to scheme him up ways that can help them.
On the other hand, what James brings on offense would probably offset whatever deficiency he has on defense. Put him around some young players who can get up and down on the floor, and life could be easy for him.
The Cavs seem to be one of the frontrunners for him, so it will be interesting to see how he and Harden fare on the court defensively if he signs with them.
