The Indianapolis Colts are gearing up for Week 1 after solidifying their final 53-man roster . Indy added some fresh new faces this offseason on both sides of the ball. One new Colts player will be sporting a brand new jersey number for the first time in his career this fall.

Colts wide receiver Keenan Allen was seen wearing a No. 10 jersey at practice on Thursday, per The Athletic's James Boyd.
Allen has worn No. 13 throughout his entire NFL career up until this point. However, Boyd noted that Laquon Treadwell said yesterday that he decided to keep his No. 13 jersey after speaking with Allen about it recently.

It is mildly surprising that Treadwell did not surrender his jersey number for the 34-year-old veteran. Regardless, now Allen must wear a new jersey number during his 14th season in the NFL.
This comes of the heels of Allen being arrested on two DWI charges following his Colts preseason debut. Allen has yet to receive any type of discipline from the Colts or the league itself.

Colts GM Chris Ballard declared that Allen will play in Week 1 despite his recent arrest. Ballard also requested that Allen be given some grace despite his recent off-the-field issues.
"I won't comment on the legal process, but I will say that good people make mistakes," Ballard said. "Give [Keenan Allen] some grace."
Indianapolis will be counting on Allen to play a big role right away this season. Starter Alec Pierce is uncertain to play in Week 1 while he recovers from offseason ankle surgery. That means Allen should be a key receiving option alongside Tyler Warren and Josh Downs, both of whom are also nursing injuries.
It will be exciting to see how Allen plays during his Colts regular season debut next week.

The Colts open the regular season with a home game against the Ravens. That contest kicks off at 1PM ET on September 14th from Lucas Oil Stadium.
