Derrick Nnadi's tenure with the Colts
Nnadi was one of many free agent additions made by GM Chris Ballard. He signed a one-year deal worth $1.487 million .
What to know about Derrick Nnadi
Nnadi has spent the last eight seasons in Kansas City and has been a part of multiple Super Bowl teams. After playing over 500 snaps in all but one season from 2018 to 2023, Nnadi is averaging just shy of 300 snaps per season over the last two years.
He brings an added run-stuffing presence to the Colts' defensive front, spending his career lining up in either the A or B gaps. In this role, Nnadi isn't going to log a bunch of quarterback pressures, but his presence can clog up running lanes and free up others to make plays with the space he eats up and blockers he takes on.
Looking ahead to 2026 for Derrick Nnadi
Nnadi could provide a secondary run-stuffing presence at this position group behind Grover Stewart . That said, although he's a recent free agent addition, Nnadi isn't a roster lock either. The Colts do save salary cap space by releasing him.
He and Jerry Tillery may end up competing for the fifth and final roster spot, with the Colts deciding between having extra run support with Nnadi or more of a pass rush presence on the back end of the depth chart with Tillery.
