New Concern for Lazio as Italian Winger Suffers Leg Injury on Vacation
Lazio winger Matteo Cancellieri has reportedly hurt himself despite being out of action, causing a fresh injury concern for the club.
The Background
While eight Biancocelesti were called up for the extended international break, Cancellieri expectedly wasn't selected. Not even Mattia Zaccagni was summoned, as Davide Frattesi is the only Lazio representative in Roberto Mancini's first squad after his return to the Italian national team.

Lazio Players Given Rest Before Double Friendly Tests
Following last weekend's 2-0 win in Venice, Gennaro Gattuso rewarded the players who weren't selected for international duty by giving them a five-day break. The Aquile will resume work at Formello this weekend. They will host Arezzo for a friendly on Sunday (at 15:00 CET) and will play Juve Stabia a week later.
Matteo Cancellieri Hurt His Leg During the Break
According to Radio Laziale (via La Lazio Siamo Noi ), Cancellieri sustained an injury during his vacation. His condition required a few stitches, so he's expected to report to the club's medical facilities in the coming days to undergo the necessary clinical tests and determine an estimated return date.

Gennaro Gattuso Admires Cancellieri
This is a blow for Gattuso, who personally requested the 24-year-old's stay at Lazio while the management was working on selling him in the summer. He has been a regular starter on the right wing, as Gustav Isaksen is still struggling to regain his best form after recently returning from groin surgery.
Lazio Make U-Turn on Winger Who Is Now Set to Stay; Two Offers Rejected
Gattuso will be hoping that the Italian winger's condition is nothing serious so he can have him at his disposal when Lazio resume competitive action on October 11 by hosting Monza at the Stadio Olimpico.
