- Confirmed Participants in Avalanche-DU Alumni Game
We're just two weeks away from the Colorado Avalanche 's second annual alumni game against the DU Pioneers. The event will take place at 5 p.m. MT on Sunday, Aug. 23, at Magness Arena.
Recently, Kyle Keefe of Altitude TV revealed a list of confirmed participants in the game. Among the most notable Avalanche additions that were not there last season are Cody McLeod and Paul Stastny .

I've also heard that Jack Johnson is expected to be in town to play as well.
McLeod last played professional hockey in 2021-22 as a member of the AHL's Iowa Wild. Stastny retired following the 2022-23 season, when he played 79 games for the Carolina Hurricanes .
As for Johnson, he recently accepted a coaching position with the Ohio State Buckeyes women's hockey program. Last year he was a scout for the Vancouver Canucks after attempting a PTO with the Minnesota Wild to continue his playing career. He last played in 2024-25, suiting up in 41 games for the Columbus Blue Jackets .
Keefe's list of confirmed names is below.
