- Cori Close has gotten some help recruiting from an unlikely source
After wrapping up the national title on Sunday , Cori Close and the UCLA Bruins now have to begin working on building next year's roster . It'll be a team without many returners but after winning the national championship, it should be an attractive destination for transfers.
In case UCLA, fresh off of a national title, isn't an attractive enough destination, the Bruins has seen parents of players go on social media and offer to be a resource for families making decisions in the transfer portal.

Andrea Rice, mother of Kiki Rice and Michelle Betts, mother of Sienna and Lauren Betts have posted on Twitter that they are willing to talk to families who are considering transferring to UCLA about their experience with the program.
Having a parents co-sign is an important part of recruiting, both Rice and Betts are well aware of that, and they are looking to help out Close and the UCLA staff in the portal. On Tuesday, Texas freshman Aaliyah Crump entered the portal , a day later Crump (and her mother) had Michelle Betts tweeting at her.
"Baby girl, do you like beaches, sunsets, driving around with the wind blowing through your hair, In n Out, sunshine all year round, hanging out with people who make you laugh? Nobody is funnier than Sienna and you know this!!!" Michelle Betts tweeted on Tuesday.
Crump played alongside Sienna Betts on Team USA and now the two players could potentially join forces to become the next core for UCLA.

It's no surprise that the UCLA women's basketball program is riding high after winning the title, but parents reaching out to do recruiting for behalf of the program is a sign that the Bruins culture is flourishing.
