Teams around the NFL are making final cuts as each organization must dwindle the team down to a 53-man roster. On Saturday, the Dallas Cowboys made a notable cut after releasing Denzel Mims from the club.
Reports indicate that the 28-year-old wide receiver was informed by the Cowboys of his release on Saturday, according to Todd Archer of ESPN. Mims' time in Dallas was short, as he was let go after signing with the team in mid-July.
"WR Denzel Mims has been informed of his release from the Cowboys, per source," Archer reported.

Mims first entered the league as a second-round pick by the New York Jets in the 2020 NFL Draft. He played three seasons for the organization and has not played a single regular-season game since the 2022-23 campaign with New York. He attempted to come back to the league after signing with the Cowboys, but the club felt it was best to go in a different direction.
In his three years in the league, the former Baylor Bears star accumulated 42 receptions for 676 yards and zero touchdowns. He'll now have to seek opportunities elsewhere if he hopes to continue his NFL career.
CeeDee Lamb and George Pickens will lead the way in the wide receiver room in Dallas. We won't know the exact wide receiver room until after the Cowboys finalize their cuts before the start of the new season. However, Ryan Flournoy is expected to serve as the WR3 behind Lamb and Pickens. Meanwhile, Jake Ferguson will remain a consistent pass option out of the tight end position.
