A fan created a bizarre late-game scene Wednesday night during a tense Chicago Cubs finish vs. the Baltimore Orioles , ending up on the field during the final at-bat at Camden Yards.
The interruption came as the Cubs were actively trying to close out a 9-7 win. The Orioles already made the ninth inning uncomfortable after turning a six-run deficit into a two-run game, giving the final outs more tension than expected.
The timing of the intruder on the field made the scene even stranger. Jacob Webb stood on the mound trying to complete the save, while the Orioles had one last chance.

Jomboy Media took to X, formerly Twitter, and shared the odd moment near the left field wall as play briefly stopped during the final at-bat.
"Fan got onto the field in Baltimore during the final at-bat of the game"
The clip quickly added a viral layer to an already chaotic ending. Security moved in and escorted the fan away, allowing the Cubs and Orioles to resume play with the outcome still unsettled.
Once the game continued, Webb finished the job. Chicago held on after Pete Crow-Armstrong hit two home runs and Seiya Suzuki added a three-run shot that gave the Cubs needed separation.
The Cubs needed the offense because Baltimore refused to go quietly. Tyler O'Neill homered twice off the bench, while Coby Mayo also went deep during the Orioles' comeback attempt.
Colin Rea earned the win after allowing three runs over 5 1/3 innings. As Chicago withstood the Orioles' late push, Webb secured the save.
For the Cubs, the final score mattered far more than the fan incident. Still, the interruption gave their road win an unexpected viral finish.
