As the Chicago Cubs feature young stars, such as Pete Crow-Armstrong , sometimes the fans have critiques of the players when it comes to their performances. This is what happened with the Cubs' 24-year-old in Crow-Armstrong , as he was seen talking with a fan in a heated fashion during the 9-8 loss against the Chicago White Sox on Sunday.
In the bottom of the fifth inning in Sunday's game, White Sox third baseman Miguel Vargas would hit a ball to right field, as Crow-Armstrong tried to make a tough play and catch it, but didn't end up doing so. He would end up on the grass, where a fan decided to give him her take on the play , which led to Crow-Armstrong responding, as Jesse Rodgers of ESPN reports.
" Pete Crow-Armstrong on his interaction with a fan after missing on a tough catch in right center today: 'Some lady decided to start talking shi– and I felt the need to say it back,'" Rogers wrote on X, formerly Twitter, quoting Crow-Armstrong after Sunday's game.
The fan was part of the White Sox faithful, as she appeared to wear a hat of the team, which could have been confusing for many other fans to witness. At any rate, Crow-Armstrong has been trying to find his footing this season, as before Sunday's game, he had been hitting a .234 batting average to go along with five home runs and 20 RBIs.
When it comes to the Cubs themselves, the team now has a 29-18 record after the loss to the White Sox, which still puts them first in the NL Central, as they start a new series against the Milwaukee Brewers on Monday.
