Current and former Cleveland catchers Austin Hedges, Mike Zunino and Bo Naylor have also been identified as potential witnesses. All three catchers were involved in receiving pitches that prosecutors allege were manipulated as part of the betting scheme. However, the actual witness lists remain under seal, and it is not yet established which individuals will ultimately testify.
Regardless, an MLB monitor had initially notified Matt Forman that Clase was using his cellphone in the clubhouse during a game, violating league policy. Forman subsequently reported the incident to MLB.

Paul Mifsud, MLB's head baseball operations counsel, is also listed. The government identified a total of 42 potential witnesses in proposed jury-selection questions, with the final list expected to be announced later.
The financial allegations are substantial. According to the prosecution, bettors involved in the arrangement generated more than $450,000 in profits through wagers connected to Clase's pitches.
