CLEMSON — Clemson football signed its 20th player in the 2026 class after flipping three-star edge rusher Michael Foster from East Carolina on Dec. 3, early signing day .
The 6-foot-3, 230-pounder from Indian Land High School in Fort Mill, South Carolina , is rated as the No. 47 player in the state by the 247Sports Composite. Foster recorded 131 tackles, including 12 sacks, and two pass deflections in his senior season, according to MaxPreps.
"He's high motor, loves football, elite pass rusher, good size with a chance and potential to get better," Clemson coach Dabo Swinney said Dec. 3.
Foster committed to East Carolina on July 13 but received a late offer from Clemson on Nov. 6. He announced his commitment to Clemson on Dec. 3 during a ceremony at his high school. Clemson pursued him after suffering two defensive lineman decommitments this cycle.
Clemson entered signing day ranked No. 18 nationally (fourth in the ACC). The Tigers' class is back up to 20 recruits, including 10 four-stars, nine three-star commits and one player who isn't rated. Three-star safety Kaden Gebhardt flipped to Ohio State earlier on signing day.
Foster is the second recruit from South Carolina in the 2026 class to commit to the Tigers, joining four-star safety Polo Anderson. He is also Clemson's third defensive lineman with three-stars Kam Cody and J.R. Hardrick.
