Today is the annual day for Detroit Red Wings fans to express their disappointment over the fact that Henrik Zetterberg and Chris Osgood are not members of the Hockey Hall of Fame.

As in previous years, the hope that this would be the year was dashed when it was announced Monday that the 2026 class would include Patrice Bergeron , Keith Tkachuk, Carey Price , Pekka Rinne , Cindy Curley and Brian Burke.
Zetterberg's credentials include the 2008 Conn Smythe Trophy and membership to the Triple Gold Club as one of 30 players to win a Stanley Cup, World Championship and an Olympic gold medal. He ranks fifth all-time on the Red Wings for points (906). Hall of Famers Gordie Howe, Steve Yzerman, Alex Delvecchio and Nicklas Lidstrom are those ahead of him.
The former Red Wings captain is already in the International Ice Hockey Federation Hall of Fame.
Osgood, meanwhile, put up 401 regular season wins, plus 74 postseason triumphs, en route to three Stanley Cup championships (two as a starter).

Rinne is probably the most popular player in Predators history, but Osgood's numbers and accomplishments measure up to his.
