Dan Ndoye is excited to see Nottingham Forest teammate Nicolo Savona back in action after a lengthy injury layoff.
Forest are struggling for form right now as Oliver Glasner comes under threat of the sack just months into his tenure as boss.
The Austrian has overseen just one win from his first nine competitive games in charge and they sit 18th in the Premier League right now.
Their defensive issues have been prevalent so far, with just one clean sheet picked up from eight league matches.
Forest have been missing Italian defender Savona, who last featured back in January before suffering a serious knee injury in training.
The 23-year-old has been sidelined for nine months but now looks to be on his way back to full fitness after a new social media update.
Nicolo Savona is 'back on the grass' after long Nottingham Forest absence
Savona made 20 appearances for Forest last term following a £11.2m move which ended his 13-year association with Juventus.
The versatile defender registered four goal contributions before getting injured midway through the campaign, with key strikes against both Man United and Liverpool.
He was forced to undergo surgery in March after his knee issue proved to be more serious than first believed.
Savona was then linked away from the City Ground in the summer window, with a return believed to be close, but a setback ruled out a move and pushed his comeback date much further back.
He is now looking close to a return after posting to Instagram with the caption: "Happy to be back on grass," to which teammate Ndoye replied: "Vamos fraaaa."
'He's an idiot' - Marinakis slammed by ex-chief and Glasner could pay the price at Nottingham Forest 'I'm not James McAtee's biggest fan but I have been impressed by him at Nottingham Forest' Savona could be an option at right centre-back for Glasner
Savona seems unlikely to overtake Daniel Munoz to start at right wing-back under Glasner when he is fully fit.
The 23-year-old could instead become an option on the right of the Reds' back three, given he has played there 34 times across his career so far, as per Transfermarkt .
Jair Cunha was handed a start there in Forest's last match, but Savona's stats from last season show that he may be a better fit.
The Italian was better in the opposition area, with more goals and assists, as well as more chances created per 90 (0.61 to 0.17).
He also made more successful tackles per 90 (1.75 to 1.57) than the Brazilian and more ball recoveries per 90 (2.37 to 2.27), while making less errors that led to goals (0 to 1) and covering more distance per 90 (11km to 10.2km)
