BOSTON — David Pastrnak had one goal and four assists through the Bruins ’ first three playoff games. Those numbers remained the same Sunday.
Pastrnak had a rough afternoon in Boston’s 6-1 loss to the Buffalo Sabres in Game 4 that pushed the team to the brink of elimination. The star forward had one shot on net, a few giveaways and was sloppy with the puck at times.
His recent play has caused speculation as to whether Pastrnak is healthy or playing through an injury. When asked if he was healthy, Pastrnak gave a straightforward answer.
“Yes,” he said.
Pastrnak heard a slew of boos from the TD Garden after two errors.
The Bruins need more from their top-six forward, whether it be high-danger opportunities or more shots on net.
It’s not just Pastrnak the Bruins need to see more from. Boston’s fourth line of Sean Kuraly , Mark Kastelic and Tanner Jeannot has been Boston’s best unit the last two games. Kuraly scored the Bruins’ only goal on Sunday.
“Wasted opportunity. Unacceptable,” Pastrnak said. “We expect better from ourselves. We are better than that.”
Now the Bruins have their backs against the wall as the series shifts back to Buffalo for a win-or-go-home Game 5 for Boston.
