Davis Mills impressed with professionalism of Texans' rookie class so far in camp
The Houston Texans have a promising rookie class this year, including offensive lineman Keylan Rutledge , defensive tackle Kayden McDonald, tight end Marlin Klein , and safety Kamari Ramsey .
Klein had a 31-yard reception in Houston's preseason loss to the Los Angeles Chargers , the longest reception for anyone on the Texans . Meanwhile, Ramsey recorded his first NFL interception. McDonald also got his first two tackles in the league and Rutledge got some reps at center.

"I think this is one of the best rookie classes I've been around, just the professionalism they carry themselves with, already building routines," quarterback Davis Mills said. "A lot of them kind of early on were asking veterans to help them with the routines and kind of give them a game plan to be a professional in this league. A lot of them have really hit it in stride. It's a good thing when you don't really notice you're out there playing with rookies. They're kind of just plug and play, and a lot of them are doing big things."
Rookies played a key role in last year's team, including running back Woody Marks becoming the Texans' starting running back and Tay Ersery, Houston's projected long-term left tackle. However, it appears rookies will play a much more prominent role on both sides of the ball this year with the talent they are already showing in training camp and this first preseason game.
The Texans will face off against the Las Vegas Raiders next Thursday at Relaint Stadium.
