Defeat by the minimum at Sadar
Girona has once again faced the toughness of El Sadar. Míchel's team returns empty-handed from Pamplona after a match that was decided by a detail in the final stretch. A header from Ante Budimir in the 80th minute condemned the Girona side, who lost 1-0 to Osasuna .
The Girona team approached the match seriously, with personality and a clear intention to control possession. For much of the game, they managed to minimize the home team's danger, and when needed, Paulo Gazzaniga stepped up, proving decisive in keeping the team alive with several crucial saves. The Argentine goalkeeper held Girona together during the most demanding moments and prevented the scoreline from changing earlier.

Despite this control, Girona lacked depth and precision in the final third. The match was balanced on a knife-edge, with no clear chances and a constant sense that any small detail could tip the scales.
And that detail came ten minutes before the end. A precise cross from the left found Budimir's head, who made no mistake and sent El Sadar into celebration. Gazzaniga, who had been unbeatable until then, could not prevent the only crack in Girona's defense.
With this result, Girona heads into the break six points above the relegation zone. The next match will be at Montilivi on Easter Monday with Villarreal visiting.
