The Denver Broncos selected Illinois safety Miles Scott with the 246th overall pick in the seventh round of the 2026 NFL draft on Saturday afternoon.
Scott (5-11, 190 pounds) was a five-year player for the Illinois Illini from 2021-25. Scott is a converted wide receiver, where he played his first two seasons before switching to the defensive side of the ball. While not productive as a receiver, he thrived on defense, making 182 total tackles (131 solo, 51 assisted), with four tackles for loss, one sack, seven interceptions, with two of those picks going to the house.
Scott is now reunited with former teammate Pat Bryant , whom the Broncos selected in the 2025 NFL draft. Scott may also prove to be a replacement for departed safety PJ Locke, who left in free agency to join the Dallas Cowboys .
Denver has two picks left, Nos. 256 and 257, with the final pick known as "Mr. Irrelevant."
Next pick: 256th overall.
