Brad Holmes and the Detroit Lions couldn't wait any longer.
With a run on EDGE stars at the beginning of the second round, the Lions leapt up the board, dealing pick No. 50 and one of its two fourth-round picks (No. 128 overall) to the New York Jets to jump up six spots and land Michigan EDGE Derrick Moore .
The expectation was that the Lions wanted to find a running mate for two-time Pro Bowler Aidan Hutchinson in this draft. Now, Detroit has a pair of Wolverines on its defensive edges.
Moore, a 6-foot-3, 255-pound EDGE had 10 sacks at Michigan last season. The Baltimore , Md., native had 10.5 tackles for loss, 30 total tackles, three pass breakups, two forced fumbles and one fumble recovery last season.
