The Detroit Red Wings have called up Michal Postava under emergency conditions.
The move was expected after John Gibson left the Wings' last game with an upper-body injury. Postava projects to back up Daniil Tarasov when the Wings host the Vegas Golden Knights at Little Caesars Arena on Thursday, Nov. 5.
Postava joins the Wings for his second stint fresh off big honors: He was selected the AHL goaltender of the month for October after going 4-0 last month with a 1.25 goals-against average and a .954 save percentage.

Postava, 24, earned his first career NHL victory Oct. 26 at the Edmonton Oilers , stopping 24 shots in regulation and overtime before turning away all three shootout attempts he faced. The 6-foot-1, 222-pound goaltender made his NHL debut in relief Oct. 22 at the Vancouver Canucks , stopping 7 of 8 shots in the third period.
Postava has also logged a perfect 5-0-0 record with a 1.20 goals-against average and a 0.955 save percentage in five starts with the Griffins during the 2026-27 season.
