DeVonta Smith and the Philadelphia Eagles will be looking to snap a five-game losing streak when they face Jayden Daniels and the Washington Commanders on Sunday night. The Eagles desperately need a win after falling to 2-5 following Monday's 38-21 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys.
Smith's availability would be important as the Eagles try to get their offense back on track. The wide receiver has recorded 26 receptions for 310 yards and two touchdowns in four appearances this season.
However, Smith has dealt with a lingering hamstring injury throughout the campaign. He initially aggravated the issue during the Week 2 win over the Tennessee Titans, played through it against the Chicago Bears, and subsequently missed two straight games before returning against the Carolina Panthers in Week 6.

His return was short-lived. Smith missed the Week 7 matchup against Dallas, joining quarterback Jalen Hurts and Dontayvion Wicks on the inactives list as the Eagles suffered another defeat.
According to Philadelphia Inquirer reporter Jeff McLane, Smith missed practice again Friday, putting his availability for Sunday in serious doubt. Wicks also remained sidelined, while running back Saquon Barkley returned to practice after missing Thursday's session with hamstring and back issues.
The Eagles will await Smith's final designation on the injury report before determining whether he can suit up against Washington. After missing another full week of practice, the outlook is trending in the wrong direction for Smith, and Philadelphia could be without its Pro Bowl receiver again.
