The Cleveland Browns and general manager Andrew Berry have done a remarkable job of building up the roster for the near future through the NFL Draft.
Over the last two draft classes, Berry and the front office hit on a wide variety of their draft picks. Rookies Spencer Fano, KC Concepcion, Denzel Boston , and Austin Barber continue to impress through two games, while multiple players from the 2025 draft class are now staples of the team. However, in order for the Browns to reach the next level of this miniature rebuild, the 2027 NFL Draft will be the most important cycle for the organization.
In his latest 2027 NFL Mock Draft , Pro Football Network's Ian Cummings reloaded both the offense and the defense, which could help turn the franchise into a playoff-caliber team in the near future.
Round 1, Pick No. 2: Dante Moore (QB, Oregon)
Cummings wasted no time in his latest mock draft for the Browns to find their franchise quarterback in Oregon's Dante Moore.
"Archetypally, Moore still bears a lot of similarity to CJ Stroud, and in my opinion, that's a QB worth taking a chance on, especially for a Browns team that has been so dysfunctional at that spot," Cummings wrote. " But there are pros and cons to that comp, and Moore still has a lot to prove."
Moore, prior to announcing his return to Oregon this season, was widely considered a top quarterback prospect in the 2026 NFL Draft. However, the prolific quarterback has struggled to find his footing this season, as the Ducks suffered a painful upset on the road against Oklahoma State in Week Two.
Still, Moore's overall frame of work throughout his time in college has kept his draft stock afloat. Last season, Moore threw for 3,565 passing yards and 30 touchdowns, but in order for him to secure himself as a top-five pick in the upcoming draft class, he must play significantly better in crunch time — an area that he has yet to improve this season.
Round 1, Pick No. 22: Tavion Gadson (IDL, Kentucky)
Surprisingly, Cummings decided to bolster the defensive line with the Los Angeles Rams ' first-round pick by selecting Kentucky defensive tackle Tavion Gadson.
Standing at 6-foot-5, 303 lbs., the senior defender is coming off a terrific 2025 campaign, finishing with 28 tackles and 2.5 sacks. Gadson picked up right where he left off last season through his first two games by recording nine tackles, 1.5 sacks, and one pass deflection against Alabama and Texas A&M.
Talent is not an issue for Gadson — he is clearly poised to be a three-down lineman at the NFL level come next year. However, the Browns defensive line needs a secondary EDGE rusher to play alongside Jared Verse , instead of another interior defender.
Round 2, Pick No. 34: Kyngston Viliamu-Asa (LB, Notre Dame)
Cummings continued the defensive trend for the Browns in the second round of his recent mock draft by selecting Notre Dame linebacker Kyngston Viliamu-Asa.
After playing in 11 games during his sophomore season with the program due to a left knee injury, Viliamu-Asa is back to his old self to kick off the 2026 season. In his two games played this year, the talented linebacker posted seven tackles while recovering a fumble against Rice in Week Two.
The Browns' newest linebacker addition, Quincy Williams , has yet to live up to the high expectations since signing with the organization this past offseason, so a new running mate alongside 2025 AP Defensive Rookie of the Year Carson Schwesinger could bolster the defensive unit.
Round 3, Pick No. 66: Cayden Green (IOL, Missouri)
Finally, in the third round of his mock draft, Cummings addressed Cleveland's offensive line by selecting Missouri guard Cayden Green.
"With Teven Jenkins on a short-term deal, the Browns can reload on the interior offensive line with Cayden Green: An experienced and heavy-handed mauler with a wide-set frame and stifling strength," Cummings wrote.
Green has been one of the best pass-blocking tackles in the country over the past two seasons, allowing eight quarterback pressures and two sacks in his last 422 pass-blocking snaps, per PFF . The Browns' recent success in converting tackles to guards has seemingly paid off with Barber, so Green could be the missing piece on the offensive line heading into 2027.
