The Los Angeles Dodgers witnessed Tyler Glasnow hit an impressive feat against the Houston Astros . But his journey to 1,000 strikeouts came with an early exit. Which Glasnow got to explain Wednesday.
The right-handed pitcher exited with a lower back injury during the 12-2 rout against Houston . Glasnow even got spotted motioning to the training staff before the second inning began .
Now fans wonder what sparked the MLB Injury during the early part of the rout.
“Just a spasm, it gives out,” Glasnow revealed to reporters. “I’ve had it since high school. I guess for being tall. It was just a warm up pitch and it gave out. After I threw another one, it was too hard to bend over.”
But his next words will relieve Dodger fans.
“It’s not too serious,” Glasnow said. “I’ve had it a few times. It’s just one of those things where it gets thrown out [his back]. Once it gets better, it gets better. It shouldn’t be too long.”
The multiple World Series winner didn’t start fast on the hill. Houston’s Brice Matthews blasted Glasnow’s 95 miles per hour sinker on pitch No. 3 to start the first.
Except Glasnow redeemed himself after; fanning his next two batters while forcing one ground out to close the bottom of the first.
Jack Dreyer immediately relieved Glasnow by order of manager Dave Roberts . Dreyer threw heat on the hill for two innings and surrendered one hit on a Braden Shewmake single. The southpaw struck out one batter while forcing four ground outs.
