Wayne played in all five Texans games this season, but was the odd man out after the team acquired Marvin Harrison Jr. in a trade with the Cardinals. He had four catches for 65 yards and also saw time on special teams while with Houston.
Wayne played in four games for the Texans over the previous two seasons. He had two catches for 20 yards in those contests.
The Dolphins also announced that they have signed defensive lineman Jordan Jefferson to the practice squad and that they have released defensive lineman Mazi Smith in a corresponding move.
