The Miami Dolphins have been cutting their roster from 91 players down to 53 this weekend, and one of the rooms they've had to focus on is their group of wide receivers.
Miami has already reportedly released Terrace Marshall Jr., Theo Wease Jr. and Donaven McCulley, but now, according to the Miami Herald's Barry Jackson , they're expected to release Jalen Reagor as well.
Reagor, 27, played collegiately at TCU from 2017-19, earning All-Big 12 honors twice before the Philadelphia Eagles took him in the first round (No. 21 overall) of the 2020 NFL draft. In stints with the Eagles, Minnesota Vikings , New England Patriots and Los Angeles Chargers , he caught 86 passes for 1,037 yards and four touchdowns. He also found the end zone twice on special teams.
In three games with the Dolphins this preseason, he caught just one of his five targets and gained 17 yards. He also averaged 28.1 yards per kick return and brought his lone punt return back 10 yards.
This move leaves the Dolphins with Malik Washington , Jalen Tolbert , Caleb Douglas, Chris Bell, Kevin Coleman Jr., Ryan Miller and A.J. Henning in their wide receiver room. They'll probably make at least one more move at the position before the 53-man roster is set.
