Miami Dolphins edge rusher Chop Robinson entered the 2026 season with plenty to prove.
Through six games, Robinson has already matched his sack total from last season.
Robinson has four sacks, including two in the Dolphins' 24-19 loss to the New England Patriots.
"Just trusting my rush, trusting the process," Robinson said. "The things I watched from film, on the tackles and everything like that and just didn't stop rushing. I felt like there were times I was getting close to him, and I finally got to him. So just kept trusting and just kept going."
Robinson has bounced back from a disappointing 2025 season
The Dolphins selected Robinson with the 21st overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft. During his rookie season in Miami, Robinson showed promise, recording six sacks in 17 games.
However, Robinson's production dipped during his sophomore campaign. He managed just four sacks across 15 games after suffering two separate concussions that forced him to miss two games.
Determined to bounce back and leave his sophomore struggles behind, Robinson entered the 2026 season with renewed focus. He added 11 pounds during the offseason, increasing his playing weight to 265 pounds.
After suffering a concussion and missing the Dolphins' Week 2 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, Robinson has arguably played the best football of his career. He has recorded four sacks and ranks among the NFL's top edge rushers in pressure rate.
"I wouldn't say it's satisfying," Robinson said. "I don't really pay attention to any of that. I don't see really any of it. I hear around and everything like that. But every day I'm just trying to show up, get better, and just push myself and use that as motivation."
Robinson is quickly turning his early-season promise into production. If he continues generating pressure and getting after opposing quarterbacks, the Dolphins could finally have the disruptive pass rusher they envisioned when they made him a first-round pick.
