After losing one young defensive tackle for the season, the Miami Dolphins quickly got to work on finding a replacement.
The Dolphins announced they're signing defensive lineman Fatorma Mulbah. The announcement confirms what Mulbah's agent, Brett Tessler, announced on social media Wednesday.
This addition comes a day after Dolphins coach Jeff Hafley revealed undrafted rookie defensive tackle Rene Konga will miss the season with an undisclosed injury . Konga was placed on the injured reserve list Wednesday.
Mulbah has been listed at 6 feet 4, 306 pounds and spent much of last season with the New York Jets . He was an undrafted signing for them out of West Virginia and appeared in their three preseason games but didn't make the active roster. Later, he was added onto the team's practice squad in late October.
Mulbah played in 45 career college games with 13 starts between the Mountaineers and Penn State, where he started out but couldn't crack the rotation for much action defensively. He recorded 79 total tackles, 7 1/2 for loss, and 1 1/2 sacks.
Most of his production came as a senior in 2024, when he had 50 tackles, including 20 solo stops, one sack, 4 1/2 tackles for loss and two quarterback hurries.
The Dolphins were in need of another body on the defensive line in camp after losing Konga, who was a promising undrafted signing out of Louisville with a path to make the team's 53-man regular-season roster.
Miami's defensive tackle unit is still led by Zach Sieler , who has been with the team since 2019 and is the Dolphins player with the longest active tenure.
