The Miami Dolphins may have finally snapped their losing streak, but the NFL trade deadline could bring another shake-up to South Florida.
With the Nov. 10 deadline approaching, defensive tackle Zach Sieler's name keeps surfacing in trade rumors. However, his agent, Drew Rosenhaus , insists his client wants to stay in Miami.
"Zach has made it clear he wants to stay here," Rosenhaus said during his weekly Sunday night appearance on WSVN. "I have not had any discussion with the Dolphins or any other team about [him] being traded. There had been no discussions about that."
Sieler still could be moved despite comments from agent
Despite Rosenhaus' stance, Bleacher Report's Kristopher Knox believes Sieler could be a logical trade candidate for a Dolphins team in the first year of its rebuild. Knox suggested Miami could land a conditional 2027 fifth-round pick in return.
"Sieler would be a very logical trade chip for Miami. He's 31, and he's a potential 2027 cap casualty," Knox wrote.
"$10 million of Sieler's 2027 salary will become fully guaranteed on the third day of the new league year. Releasing him with a post-June 1 designation before then would save the Dolphins $13.2 million in cap space. While the Dolphins did pick up their first win of the season in Week 7, they're not a playoff team."
Sieler has recorded 17 tackles and two sacks in six games this season. He also made a crucial goal-line tackle on a fullback dive during Sunday's 28-25 victory over the New York Jets, preventing a touchdown.
Sieler's contract runs through the 2029 season, making him an unrestricted free agent in 2030. However, his age and contract could make him a salary-cap casualty after 2026.
The Dolphins shouldn't give Sieler away to make a deal. He's still a productive defensive lineman who can make an impact, as he showed against the Jets.
But Miami's front office must weigh his on-field value against the financial flexibility and draft capital a trade could provide. If a team comes calling with an offer worth considering, the Dolphins may have to decide whether Sieler fits their long-term plans — or whether his time in Miami is nearing an end.
