Drake Maye had a strong first half against the Jets , to say the least, with four passing touchdowns en route to a 35-3 halftime lead over the Patriots ’ division rival.
According to ESPN , it marked the first time a Patriots quarterback had four passing touchdowns in the first half of a game since Tom Brady did so in Week 8 against the Chicago Bears during the 2014 season.
Maye also went 17-of-29 with 229 passing yards through two quarters.
It was a dominant showing by New England over the lowly Jets , who were 3-12 going into the Week 17 matchup.
Maye’s sophomore season has been one that’s put him in the MVP conversation. The 23-year-old furthered his case Sunday when he eclipsed the 4,000 passing yard mark with a 30-yard pass to Efton Chism III .
