Stephen Curry and his younger brother, Seth , have had their fair share of duels on the court. Whether it was in the backyard of their grandfather's home, their own home, or an NBA arena, notably during the 2019 Western Conference Finals when Seth starred for the Portland Trail Blazers , the Curry brothers have had unforgettable moments on a basketball court.
On Sunday night, they added another one to their treasure trove, as they played together on the Golden State Warriors for the first time in their respective NBA careers. And when asked about that moment they shared in the second quarter of the Warriors' match against the Houston Rockets , Steph minced no words, calling it a "dream come true."
A difficult season for the Curry brothers
Expectations were high for the Warriors this season, especially after they acquired Seth in December 2025, adding more three-point shooting to a team that already has the game's greatest three-point shooter of all time. However, things haven't panned out for the Warriors, as injuries have derailed the team. Steph has played only 40 games, while Seth played in just his seventh game of the season on Sunday.
Nevertheless, the moment they had in the second was unforgettable.
"That was special. And we've both had a very difficult year. You know, honestly him more than me with injuries and I was joking, calling us the rehab brothers 'cause it's been like that all year," Steph shared .
"But to have that moment coming out of a timeout and talking about our matchups, and I was having flashbacks to Charlotte Christian High School, my senior year, his sophomore year was the last time in an actual game."
Seth was actually on the Warriors' training camp roster in 2013 but got cut before the season began. So, the last time they played together was back in high school.
"Last time we actually played a game together, my mom was in the stands and she probably didn't have any more memory in her phone from taking all the pictures and videos," Steph expressed. "So, that was a dream come true to be honest."
A moment they will cherish
With basketball a focal point of their lives, Seth and Steph have witnessed one another's journeys and been by each other's side throughout their careers. However, it's one thing to support your brother from afar; it's another to actually be in his corner on the same team.
"All of our basketball journey from growing up watching my pops play and I think there's this video of us in Toronto when we're up there shooting around on the court as kids. Like basketball's been a part of our whole lives and it's what we love to do," Steph relayed.
"And the fact that you know at this stage of both of our careers that we've had this opportunity, even though this is what game 77 and it's the first time actually playing together, you definitely take a moment to reflect for sure," he continued. "And you know, when it is all said and done down the road, I'm sure we'll put the pictures up from tonight and and and talk about it."
With the two players in the respective twilights of their careers, there's no telling how many more games Steph and Seth will have as teammates. However, their first one will always have a special place in their hearts and minds.
