Kon Knueppel had an incredible regular season for the Charlotte Hornets this year.
Knueppel, who was picked fourth overall by the Hornets in the 2025 NBA Draft, finished the regular season averaging 18.5 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 3.4 assists per game. He has helped the Hornets reach the play-in tournament and will now try to help them reach the first round of the NBA Playoffs.
Knueppel has been lethal from three-point range this year and made 273 three-pointers during the regular season. His 273 three-pointers are the most by a rookie in NBA history, and he's the first rookie to lead the NBA in successful three-pointers.
Duke basketball's Instagram page made sure to give Knueppel his flowers for those accomplishments.
Knueppel spent the 2024-25 season at Duke before declaring for the 2025 NBA Draft. He was on the same team as Cooper Flagg , who was selected first overall by the Dallas Mavericks .
That Duke team was great, but lost to Houston in the Final Four. However, Knueppel still had a great 2024-25 season with Duke, averaging 14.4 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 2.7 assists per game. He also shot 40.6% from three-point range and 47.9% from the field.
He's a heck of a player and will be a big part of the Hornets' franchise for years to come. The Hornets will take on the Magic in the NBA play-in tournament on Friday after taking down the Miami Heat 127-126 in overtime on Tuesday.
Tip-off for Friday's game will be at 7:30 p.m. ET.
