While intra-division trades are rare in the NFL, it's common for players to take their talents from one divisional squad to another on the free agent market.

CBS Sports' Zachary Pereles believes we could see that happen in the next portion of the offseason, as he recently named the Philadelphia Eagles as the best fit for a former Dallas Cowboys starter.
'The Eagles had two big holes -- pass rusher and safety -- entering the draft, and they addressed the first by acquiring and extending Jonathan Greenard ," Pereles wrote Wednesday. "The safety market has thinned considerably, but (Donovan) Wilson could provide versatility and solid tackling."
Wilson, whom the Cowboys selected with the No. 213 overall pick in the 2019 season, has spent the past seven seasons with the five-time Super Bowl champions. Known for his ability to deliver vicious hits, blitz effectively, and wrap up in the open field, Wilson enjoyed a breakout season with the Cowboys in 2022-23.
The Texas A&M product logged 101 tackles (77 solo and 24 assisted, five sacks and two forced fumbles). Unsurprisingly, the Cowboys boasted a top-10 defense that season, generating takeaways and disrupting opposing quarterbacks at an extraordinary level.

Wilson has been solid the last three seasons in Dallas, but remains a free agent in late April. As Pereles noted, the Eagles' safety isn't where it needs to be at this stage of the offseason, as losing Reed Blankenship to the Houston Texans in March created a void at the position.
Signing Wilson could be the move that helps Philadelphia feel better about losing their beloved 27-year-old starter.
