Elandon Roberts is back with the Pittsburgh Steelers again. The hard-hitting inside linebacker is ready to bring his thumping talents back to the field.
"I've got a little itch," Roberts said in front of his new locker at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Wednesday.
An 11th-year veteran, Roberts played for Pittsburgh defensive coordinator Patrick Graham last season with the Las Vegas Raiders. Roberts re-joined the Steelers during training camp, but was surprisingly released as part of roster cut-downs.
"I wouldn't have came back if I was uncomfortable," Roberts said. "I know a lot of people are (like), 'Man, you should feel a way.' It's a business at the end of the day."
#Steelers ILB Elandon Roberts is a different breed:
"I've been doing this since 3 years old," he said Wednesday. "My daddy told me he had the big screen up, and he called for help. I thought he wanted me to tackle Emmitt Smith. Nobody could get him down on the TV. … I ran… pic.twitter.com/tl0jj8ciJ4— Brendan Howe (@bybrendanhowe) October 15, 2026
Roberts added that he has a good relationship "with everybody upstairs, coaches, everybody. (There are) no hard feelings on my end." Roberts had to deal with a family matter after he was released in August, and had he not been let go, he would've had to step away to attend to the matter anyway.
Roberts also changed agents, and he got to choose which situation suited him best. Roberts and another Steelers linebacker, Patrick Queen , stayed in touch. He talked a lot to veteran mainstay Cam Heyward and safety DeShon Elliott, too.
As for whether he sees the field on Sunday against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Roberts is more concerned with what he can do for the team throughout the week right now.
"Right now, my big thing is helping the team do whatever it needs to do to win," Roberts said. "And whether that's just helping, being on scout team, that's it. I'm not trying to do too much. I'm just trying to be a teammate. … We'll just take that one day at a time."
