Like Bill Belichick , Eli Manning won't be going to the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2026.
The former New York Giants quarterback fell short in his second year of eligibility, The Athletic reported Wednesday . Manning was one of the 15 modern-era finalists.
Despite Manning, who spent his entire 16-year career with the Giants, having two Super Bowl MVP awards and starting 210 consecutive games for the Giants, The Athletic noted the "main strike" against him is he was never viewed as a "top quarterback in the golden era at the position."
Manning played during an era that included his brother and Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning , Tom Brady , Aaron Rodgers , Ben Roethlisberger and Drew Brees .
The 45-year-old was selected to the Pro Bowl only four times and never was an All-Pro. His starting record is 117-117.
Manning will try again in 2027 to get into Canton. It's possible his two Super Bowl wins and the success he sustained over his career will get him in, but he will have to wait at least another year.
