- Emma Hayes unveils USWNT roster for Brazil double header with return of ‘Triple Espresso’
For the first time since the summer of 2024, the trio of Trinity Rodman , Mallory Swanson , and Sophia Wilson will all be in camp together with the U.S. Women's National Team as they travel to South America for a double header against 2027 FIFA Women's World Cup hosts, Brazil.
Rodman, Swanson, and Wilson were key to the USWNT 's gold medal win at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, scoring 10 of the side's 12 total goals en route to a finale that came just 75 days into head coach Emma Hayes' tenure after she joined from WSL side Chelsea .
Now, with Rodman healthy once again after numerous injury setbacks, and both Wilson and Swanson back after giving birth in 2025, the trio will look to pick up where they left off in France as they ramp up their preparation for next year's World Cup.

Addressing the return of the trio - or 'Triple Espresso' as they previously became known - Hayes highlighted to reporters on Wednesday that there is no time to waste in getting them back up to speed as one.
"That front three haven't been together since the Olympic gold medal match. That's a long time. And we cannot waste a single minute," she said.
"We absolutely have to put the very best players together with every opportunity that we have. But the circumstances are slightly different.
"You have Mal, who is coming back, last, and, yes, she is competing and contributing to Chicago. But, like, Soph, last camp its so important to get them into the environment, to reconnect with their teammates. You cannot underestimate that.
"To recognize that the team's tactical developments have progressed. So we've got to get them back up to speed within that, whether it's, 'Oh, right, that's our language, that's our game model, that's what we do in possession. That's what we do out of possession.'

"So there's training moments for that. And then it's getting back into game environment with Mal, who I think will be the furthest behind. But I think for at least 45 minutes, she can play, maybe longer, in both of the games.
"I think, with Trin, definitely, in the flow of her season, and Soph's already contributing goals. But it's putting the three of them together again. But also, the likes of Alyssa Thompson , Michelle Cooper, Ally Sentnor, Emma Sears, all of these players have been contributing to the team.
"So, we have been able to develop the depth, but those three players, they've developed credit in the bank. We won a gold medal with these players. They are top, top players. But together, we have to start recreating their connections again, and I'm very, very excited for that."
But this camp won't just be a good opportunity to get 'Triple Espresso' back on the same page, but also to help the entire team become more accustomed to travelling together, given that the USWNT plays most of its games on home soil.
"This is another moment where we get to see how we cope with all of the environmental conditions that come with going to Brazil," Hayes said. "Whether that's adapting to different cultures, different training facilities, different hotels, different experience, fan experience, feeling like the away team. But with the pressure cooker of a top opponent.

"All of these things really, really matter, and I think, when I've been really clear throughout this, it's about qualifying first, but we're going to Brazil, and this gives us an opportunity to really pick up some valuable lessons.
"And when I was putting the roster together, it was that in mind. We've got this camp and October, they're the last two camps before qualification, and I'm honing in on making sure that the vast majority of players that will be in contention for that November roster. Are in this camp."
The USWNT is scheduled to take on Brazil in São Paulo at the Neo Química Arena on June 6, before heading to Fortaleza three days later where they'll play at the Arena Castelão.
