Enes Kanter Freedom shared more details on his plans to play in the WNBA for the 2027 season, wishing the Indiana Fever select him in the WNBA Draft.
Despite the WNBA rejecting Kanter's draft eligibility and dismissing Kanter as a 'bad-faith actor,' the former NBA center is still pushing hard to find his way into the WNBA.
Kanter has also started sharing details on what he intends to do on the court, revealing he wants to be drafted by the Fever so that he can play alongside Caitlin Clark.
In a recent appearance on Fox News, Kanter openly wished to be drafted by the Fever so he can form a dynamic duo with Caitlin Clark to create the WNBA's equivalent of Shaq and Kobe.
"I hope that the Indiana Fever selects me. Caitlin Clark and I will be the modern-day Shaq and Kobe."
Given that Kanter has already attended an Indiana Fever game, it's not surprising to see him pick the team with over double the national attention of any other WNBA franchise.
Clark is also the most popular player in the WNBA, so naming her alongside legends like Shaq and Kobe in this statement is just Kanter being provocative.
Kanter has become a major mainstream figure with his actions to destabilise the WNBA through his appearance at the nationally-televised Fever vs. Sky game, where he was ejected for getting into it with Sky veteran Natasha Cloud.
Entertaining the idea of a cis man playing in the WNBA is a devastating blow to the league's credibility.
Until they outline eligibility regulations, Kanter will continue attacking them in the media and in courtrooms.

Hopefully, the WNBA can come up with safe eligibility criteria that allow trans athletes to be eligible for the WNBA, but only after meeting certain biological guidelines, to ensure the loophole Kanter has used to make this into an issue no longer exists.
Kanter might be able to use his physical advantages to dominate the NBA, but it could be argued that players like Clark are already far more skilled on-ball players than Kanter in the NBA.
Unfortunately, there's a physicality barrier that makes former NBA players like Kanter even trying such stuff that harms the league and its players, especially amid the league's booming popularity.
