Some big names will be on the sidelines when the New England Patriots and Miami Dolphins kick off on Sunday afternoon. Late changes were made to the injury report on Saturday afternoon as New England ruled out wide receiver A.J. Brown, running back TreVeyon Henderson and offensive tackle Marcus Bryant for Sunday's game against Miami.
Brown is out with ankle and knee issues after participating on a limited basis Wednesday and missing Thursday and Friday. His absence takes one of New England's listed receiving options out of the matchup. The Saturday designation confirms he will not play; it does not establish a timetable for his return.
Henderson is out with an illness after missing the final two practices. Bryant is also out with an ankle injury, despite having no game designation on Friday's report. His Saturday status is another reminder that the final practice report can change before kickoff and should not be treated as the last word.
Dolphins Out – Concussion Protocol
Miami's confirmed absence remains guard/tackle Kadyn Proctor, who is out with a concussion after missing all three listed practices. That creates a definite offensive-line adjustment for the Dolphins. The report establishes his unavailability, but it does not announce his replacement or predict when he will clear the requirements to return.
Dolphins cornerbacks JuJu Brents and Reese Taylor remain questionable on the latest available official listing. Brents is dealing with neck and concussion issues; Taylor has a quadriceps injury. Taylor was a limited participant Friday, while Brents logged a full session. That participation is encouraging information, but neither player's questionable designation should be rewritten as a guarantee of Sunday availability.
New England's unresolved designations are now cornerback Carlton Davis III, with a neck injury, and linebacker Christian Elliss, with a chest injury. Both remain questionable after full participation throughout the three listed practices. Their eventual availability could affect the Patriots' defensive personnel, but Saturday's report does not settle either decision.
Dinged Up QBs
Both quarterbacks remain without a game designation. Miami's Malik Willis practiced fully with a groin issue, while New England's Drake Maye practiced fully with a right shoulder issue.
Miami also lists no game designation for Tucker Addington, Greg Dulcich, Will Kacmarek, Michael Taaffe, Dante Trader Jr., Malik Washington, Jared Wayne and Jaylen Wright. Sunday's inactive lists will resolve remaining game-day availability. Until then, the Dolphins must plan around Proctor's absence and the Patriots must prepare without Brown, Henderson and Bryant, rather than treating those three as possible participants.
