Everton's hopes of landing midfielder Gabriel Sara from Galatasaray have been boosted.
The 27-year-old has been linked with the Merseyside club over the last few weeks as the winter window begins to draw closer.
The Toffees are hoping to finish in those coveted European places, and a player of Sara's ilk would certainly be a boost.
Sara would arrive with lots of experience in European football, and that could be a deciding factor in David Moyes' side getting over the line.
There, of course, will be concerns over the business the Blues can and will conduct amid the ownership uncertainty.
But if Sara is a player the Toffees want, it seems they have been handed encouragement with Galatasaray willing to compromise.
Galatasaray soften Gabriel Sara stance as Everton interest remains
Everton have been handed a boost in their pursuit of Sara, with Galatasaray prepared to lower their demands to facilitate his departure.
According to Brazilian outlet RTI Esporte , Sara's exit from the Turkish side is certain, with their language reflecting that.
They share that Sara "will leave" the 26-time Turkish top-flight winners in the upcoming window.
This information backs up what Goodison Newshad previously relayed about Galatasaray's stance on Sara .
However, this latest report out of Brazil has also offered more clarity on the asking price.
They share that the Istanbul giants will now compromise and listen to offers as low as £29.2million, but would prefer to sell around the £33.3m mark.
Everton do face competition for his signature, with Newcastle United, Aston Villa, and Brighton all listed as interested parties alongside the L3 outfit.
Everton set Gabriel Sara meeting already as January move on cards Do Everton need Sara?
Everton's midfield options are quite limited, in truth.
While James Garner is a set-and-forget option in the centre of the pitch, the second midfielder of that pivot is a concern.
Moyes has yet to show true trust in Hayden Hackney, although his performance against Newcastle in the Carabao Cup may have changed his fortunes.
Harrison Armstrong has also come on leaps and bounds this campaign, with the academy product getting plenty of game time for a player his age.
However, the signing of Christian Norgaard has failed to show promise, and a better option than the Dane is needed.
The Brazilian is also capable of playing in the number 10 role, and a back-up to Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall is needed.
Argentine Charly Alcaraz has been mooted with a January exit as he has fallen down the Everton pecking order.
