Everton are keen on signing Palmeiras striker and Brazil international Vitor Roque.
The Toffees have one mission ahead of January, and that's to sign some new competition for Thierno Barry.
This comes despite the Friedkin Group's plans to sell the club, after only purchasing the L3 side less than two years ago.
The recruitment team are still keen to provide David Moyes with a new number nine in January, after a deadline-day move for AS Monaco's Folarin Balogun fell through in the summer.
Some names have already been backed to make a move to Hill Dickinson, with the likes of Middlesbrough's Will Lankshear and Club Brugge's Nicolo Tresoldi having both been mentioned.
Now, Roque is the latest to be added to Everton's shopping list, as Palmeiras set their financial demands.
Everton learn financial demands for Vitor Roque
According to Brazilian journalist Diego Firmino, Everton are interested in making a move for Roque in 2027.
The 21-year-old is tied down to Palmeiras until December of 2029, who paid £21million to sign him from Barcelona last year.
The Brazilian outfit also paid bonuses on top of the £21m fee to acquire 80 per cent of the rights for the player, while Barcelona kept 20 per cent.
Everton have joined several European clubs in the hunt for the centre-forward, but Palmeiras will not begin talks for anything less than £44m.
Everton were prepared to pay around £40m for Balogun in the summer, so TFG could be ready to push through a deal for Roque, so long as they haven't sold the club by then.
Will Lankshear backed for Tim Cahill-like impact as Everton transfer pitch made What does Roque's goalscoring record look like?
Roque joined Palmeiras from Barcelona in February of 2025, and has since made 95 appearances in total.
The young forward scored 20 goals in all competitions after making 56 appearances in 2025, but has only scored nine times in 39 matches this term.
He managed to make 16 appearances for Barca, netting twice before spending a loan spell with Real Betis, where he found the back of the net seven times during the 2024-25 season.
Overall, Roque is a striker with high potential, but a £44m price could come with a high risk-reward for Moyes and Everton.
The Toffees have had success with Brazilian strikers in the past, so perhaps Roque could be the next Richarlison in L3.
