Zizou Bergs has dumped seven-time Grand Slam champion Carlos Alcaraz out of the Shanghai Masters.
Bergs, the world number 39, triumphed 7-5, 7-6 in China, serving nine aces and winning 79 per cent of his first-serve points.
The Belgian, who now has a 1-1 record against the Spaniard, will play Tommy Paul or defending champion Valentin Vacherot in the fourth round.
Bergs represents the fifth player Alcaraz has lost to on the ATP Tour so far this season.
Who else has defeated the talented 23-year-old?
Daniil Medvedev
After winning the Australian Open and Qatar Open, Alcaraz suffered his first defeat of the year in Indian Wells.
The Spaniard defeated Grigor Dimitrov, Arthur Rinderknech, Casper Ruud and Cameron Norrie before losing to 2021 US Open champion Daniil Medvedev .
It was Medvedev's ninth consecutive match win on the Tour.
"Carlos is an outstanding player, it's very tough to play against him and I lost to him many times," Medvedev said on court. "And to be honest, probably I will play many more times against him and lose many more."
The Russian, once the world number one, was beaten in the final by Jannik Sinner.
Sebastian Korda
Korda caused one of the shocks of the season by beating Alcaraz in the Miami Open third round .
The American player, then ranked 36th on the ATP Tour, triumphed 6-3, 5-7, 6-4 in Florida.
"I think the process has been good. Besides the loss today, I think I'm still in the right way," Alcaraz noted afterwards.

"Some things in previous tournaments that I just didn't feel comfortable, I think in this tournament, I started to feel better and better."
The Spaniard bounced back emphatically in his next event, reaching his third ATP Tour final of the season.
Jannik Sinner
The 2026 Monte Carlo Masters final not only decided the champion of the event, but also the world number one ranking.
It was the Italian who emerged from the contest victorious, snatching the top spot from Alcaraz in the process.
The result secured Sinner's third Masters 1000 title of the season; he went on to win five in a row.
"It was a bit windy, a bit breezy. Different conditions from what the tournament has brought," Sinner said after the blockbuster affair.
"The result is amazing. Getting back to No. 1 means a lot for me… I am very happy to win a big title on this surface. I haven't done it before and it means a lot to me."
Ben Shelton
Shelton, America's great hope on the ATP Tour, produced a career-defining performance to defeat Alcaraz in the US Open quarter-finals last month.
The American star, who had lost his three previous matches against Alcaraz, triumphed 6-7, 6-1, 6-3, 1-6, 7-6 inside Arthur Ashe Stadium.
"That was a war, an epic match, so physical," Shelton said.

"Carlos is one of the greatest champions in our sport already at 23 years old.
"It's ridiculous some of the stuff he comes up with sometimes – the most enjoyable match that I've had in my career, for sure."
Shelton defeated Frances Tiafoe in the semi-finals, qualifying for his first major final.
In the championship contest, he was defeated by world number two Alexander Zverev.
