Cleveland Browns defensive end Jared Verse has surely poured more fuel into the AFC North rivalry between his team and the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Verse called the Steelers dirty following Cleveland's Week 4 win over Aaron Rodgers and company at home, and added more incendiary comments about Pittsburgh in the lead-up to last Sunday's game at Acrisure Stadium .

In the rematch, Verse went viral for the wrong reasons, as Steelers offensive lineman Mason McCormick slammed him to the ground with a WWE-style move and later claimed he didn't realize it was Verse.

For former Browns defensive back TJ Ward, the Steelers simply confirmed what Verse thought of them all along.
"They proved his point right. That's a dirty-a** play," Ward said on Speakeasy , via Blitzburgh on X. "You can't pick nobody up on field goal block and dump them on their head. You can't do that. That's illegal. Did he play well? No. Was his point proven? Yes. That's a dirty-** play, whether it was warranted or not."

Ward's background as a former Brown perhaps played into his view of this drama between Pittsburgh and Verse, who recorded just a tackle and a quarterback hit in a 27-6 Cleveland defeat.
Ward knows a thing or two about playing the Steelers, as he played several seasons with the Browns.
The former Oregon Ducks DB was a second-round selection by Cleveland in 2010 and played for the team from 2010 to the 2013 campaign.
Ward earned his first of three All-Pro nods during his final season with Cleveland before playing for the Denver Broncos and Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
