A former kicker of the Pittsburgh Steelers is looking for a new NFL home.
The New York Giants have released former Pittsburgh Steelers kicker Ben Sauls with an injury settlement, according to Art Stapleton of USA Today .
Sauls, 25, played his collegiate career at the University of Pittsburgh and signed with the Steelers as an undrafted free agent out of the 2025 NFL Draft.
He impressed during the preseason, making five of his six field goal attempts and going seven of seven on extra points.
"Really happy for Ben Sauls . The work he was able to show us," head coach Mike Tomlin said. "Good for him."

However, Sauls' future in Pittsburgh was always uncertain since the team already had two-time Pro Bowl kicker Chris Boswell on the roster.
The Steelers did try to trade him following his standout preseason performance, but they were unable to find a trade partner and waived him ahead of the cutdown day deadline.
On Sept. 23, 2025, the Atlanta Falcons signed Sauls to their practice squad. He was then released on Nov. 4 and the Giants signed him one week later.
Sauls' time with the Steelers was brief, but he was still very appreciative of Pittsburgh's veterans for showing him the ropes at the next level.
"To have guys who have been there and done that for years. I mean, the age gap. I think the second youngest is 30, maybe 31. I just turned 24 a couple of weeks ago. I am a breath of fresh air for these guys. But they've been there, they've done that," Sauls said.
"They reassure me on the field. And to have them with me this whole way. That's why we just got a silly picture of us. Because I really appreciate what they've done for me. And they really took me in and showed me the ropes."
In 2024, Sauls connected on 21 of 24 field goals and a perfect 44 of 44 on extra points at Pitt. He was selected to the Pro Football Focus All-American team and a Lou Groza Collegiate Place-Kicker Award Semifinalist.
Overall, Sauls finished his college career hitting on 52 of 64 field-goal attempts, while averaging 63 yards per kickoff.
