Tottenham Hotspur's Guglielmo Vicario is enduring a mixed bag of a loan spell with Juventus.
After falling out of favour under Roberto De Zerbi, the 30-year-old goalkeeper departed N17 in the summer.
Juventus captured his signature, inking him to a season-long loan deal with an option to purchase him permanently.
However, if he's to convince the Serie A giants to do that, the Italian international will have to enjoy a fruitful campaign.
So far though, he's been experiencing the same sort of consistency issues that played a big part in his eventual Tottenham downfall.
The latest example of which came on Wednesday night, as showcased by the reaction to his performance in the Italian media.
What did Italian media write about Guglielmo Vicario's Juventus display?
Wednesday evening saw Juventus travel to Genoa for an important Serie A clash.
The Bianconeri have not started the 2026-27 season well, as they sit eighth in the Serie A table with just four wins from their opening nine games.
Luciano Spalletti's side have lost three league games this term, the latest of which came at the hands of Genoa, who ran out 2-0 winners.
Vicario was between the sticks for Juve, and his display caused division in the Italian media.
Goal weren't impressed at all, writing: "Beaten by the only two shots on target he faced.
"Unlucky with the deflected opener and badly exposed for the second, he also had an early mix-up with Federico Gatti over a back-pass. Five."
On the other hand, Eurosport Italy were more sympathetic, saying: "Not to blame for the goals conceded.
"Rather, a victim of events. Or rather, of his teammates. Six."
So, what did Vicario's underlying numbers say about which of these two reviews were perhaps closer to the truth than the other?
'Disastrous' - Italian media turn on Tottenham loanee Pape Matar Sarr in Genoa vs Juventus How many goals did Vicario prevent vs Genoa?
Vicario has been establishing himself as Juventus' starting goalkeeper this season, starting all nine of his Serie A appearances so far.
Up until the 2-0 defeat to Genoa, he'd conceded a respectful eight goals from eight games, but Wednesday night really wasn't a good one at the office.
Per FotMob , Genoa scored with both of their two shots on target, whilst Vicario prevented -1.07 goals.
Following on from this game, Vicario's 58.3 per cent save ratio ranks him in the bottom 10 percentile of all Serie A goalkeepers in 2026-27.
He was accurate with just one of his seven long ball attempts, acted as a sweeper once, made one punch and failed to make a single high claim.
Vicario made just two defensive contributions too, in what was arguably his worst performance of the campaign.
It's the kind of display that won't have anyone back at Tottenham regretting the decision to let him leave in the summer.
