FEATURE | The Bundesliga's best 5 players – Matchday 6
Bundesliga Matchday 6 produced another entertaining weekend of German football, with Bayern Munich's emphatic 6-1 victory over RB Leipzig, Bayer Leverkusen ending Freiburg's unbeaten start and newly promoted Elversberg winning a seven-goal thriller against Augsburg, three key storylines.
Eintracht Frankfurt also returned to winning ways against Cologne, while Mainz secured an important away victory at Schalke.

Here are five players whose individual performances made the difference for their teams.
Luis Díaz – Bayern Munich
Luis Díaz delivered the standout performance of the weekend as Bayern Munich demolished RB Leipzig 6-1 at the Allianz Arena.
The Colombian completed a hat-trick with goals in the 11th, 46th and 68th minutes, helping Vincent Kompany's side respond emphatically after consecutive Bundesliga draws.
Aleksandar Pavlović, Michael Olise and Harry Kane also scored, but Díaz was the main protagonist. His direct running, movement inside the penalty area and clinical finishing repeatedly exposed Leipzig's defence.

The victory also continued Bayern's extraordinary goalscoring record at home, with 18 goals in their opening three Bundesliga matches at the Allianz Arena.
Ibrahim Maza – Bayer Leverkusen
Ibrahim Maza played a decisive role in Bayer Leverkusen's 2-1 victory over Freiburg, ending Julian Schuster's side's unbeaten start to the season.
After Derry Scherhant gave Freiburg an early lead, Maza equalised in the 19th minute. The Algerian international then produced the decisive attacking move in the second half, creating the opportunity for Patrik Schick to score the winner.
While Schick deserves recognition for scoring in each of Leverkusen's opening six Bundesliga matches, Maza's goal and involvement in the winner made him the standout performer.

His creativity and willingness to take responsibility in dangerous areas demonstrated why he is becoming increasingly important to Leverkusen's attack.
Tietz – Mainz 05
Phillip Tietz proved decisive as Mainz secured an important away victory against Schalke on Matchday 6, extending their unbeaten record away from home in the Bundesliga this season.
The striker scored the crucial goal that earned Mainz all three points, demonstrating his importance in a team that has struggled to find consistency during the opening weeks of the campaign.
In the 24th minute, Tietz converted Anthony Caci's assist to score the only goal in Mainz's 1-0 victory. It was his fifth Bundesliga goal in six appearances, underlining his excellent start to the campaign, and his best-ever start to date.

More importantly, the result gave Urs Fischer's side three wins from three away matches this season, extending their unbeaten away run in the Bundesliga to eight games.
While Mainz have struggled for consistency at home, their impressive away form has become one of the most interesting stories of the opening six matchdays. Tietz's goalscoring ability has been central to that success, making him one of the standout performers of the weekend.
Lukas Petkov – Elversberg
Lukas Petkov was instrumental in Elversberg's thrilling 4-3 victory over Augsburg, a result that continued the newly promoted club's impressive introduction to Bundesliga football.

The Bulgarian international opened the scoring in the fourth minute, reacting quickest after Finn Dahmen saved his penalty. Elversberg raced into a 3-0 lead, but Augsburg fought back through Fabian Rieder and Michael Gregoritsch.
With the visitors threatening another goal, Petkov provided the assist for Frederik Schmahl's 89th-minute strike, which ultimately proved decisive despite Mert Kömür scoring shortly afterwards.
A goal and an assist in such an unpredictable encounter highlighted Petkov's importance to Vincent Wagner's attacking system.
Miro Muheim – Hamburg
For the second consecutive Bundesliga weekend, Miro Muheim emerged as Hamburg's match-winner.

The Swiss international scored a spectacular long-range goal in the 88th minute to secure a 1-0 victory over Stuttgart at the Volksparkstadion.
Stuttgart had dominated much of the encounter and created numerous opportunities, but Hamburg remained organised defensively before Muheim produced the decisive moment with a powerful strike from approximately 25 metres.
Having also scored the late winner against Hoffenheim on Matchday 5, Muheim has now delivered consecutive match-winning goals, helping Hamburg record three successive Bundesliga victories for the first time in 16 years.
His performances have been particularly important for a team looking to establish itself after returning to Germany's top flight.

Matchday 6 offered a fascinating contrast between individual brilliance and decisive contributions under pressure. Díaz's hat-trick dominated the headlines, Maza inspired Leverkusen, Petkov helped Elversberg survive a dramatic comeback, and Muheim once again delivered when Hamburg needed him most.
These performances demonstrate how individual quality can shape matches, regardless of whether it comes from established international stars or players making their mark with less-fancied Bundesliga clubs.
