Liverpool to win and over 3.5 goals - 21/10 Betfair
Barcola to score - 9/5 Coral
There will be a familiar face in the opposition dugout tonight when Liverpool take on Turkish side Fenerbahce in Istanbul (kick-off 5:45pm, live on TNT Sports and HBO Max).
Former Reds striker Dirk Kuyt, who spent six years at Anfield, is currently in caretaker charge of Fenerbahce, following the departure of Ismail Kartal a week ago.
Liverpool will be hoping they can put the disappointment of Sunday's 1-0 defeat at the hands of Arsenal at home behind them, and keep up their 100 per cent record in the Champions League.
They have so far beaten Atletico Madrid, LASK and Villarreal, scoring 12 goals along the way while Kuyt's side are still looking for their first win.
The Turks have drawn at home to Roma and Slavia Prague and were thrashed 6-0 by Aston Villa, so online bookmakers have priced them up as heavy underdogs on their own turf.
This is the first time since the 2008/09 season that the Yellow Canaries have reached the main draw, failing to get through qualifying on nine occasions.
Tonight's game will also be the first ever meeting between the two sides, but the home side have faced English opponents 12 times, winning four, drawing two and losing the other six.
Liverpool, on the other hand, have won just one of their eight away matches in Turkey, and that was back in 2010 when Roy Hodgson led them to victory over Trabzonspor in a Europa League qualifier, and Kuyt was on the scoresheet.
Their last three trips have all ended in 1-0 defeats: against Besiktas in 2015 and Galatasaray in September 2025 and March 2026, but Fenerbahce are not in the best of form right now and are without a win in their last 10 Champions League proper matches, drawing four and losing six, which is the longest winless run in their history in the competition.
They go into the game with just one win in their last five, and football betting sites believe Liverpool, despite their record in Turkey, will have more than enough to take the win at odds of just 4/7.
None of the Reds' last 46 European matches has been drawn, with 32 wins and 14 defeats since a 3-3 draw at home to Benfica in the 2021/22 Champions League quarter-final second leg.
We expect Liverpool to have way too much for Wednesday's opponents, so it will be more about how many they can win by than whether they can win. You can get 15/4 on them winning by two or 13/2 on them winning by three – but the safer play is to go for an away win with more than three goals scored.
Fenerbahce vs Liverpool prediction 1: Liverpool to win and over 3.5 goals - 21/10 Betfair
The former Paris Saint-Germain winger Bradley Barcola has scored just three goals since making the move from the Champions League winners in August, and they all came in the 6-3 win over LASK.
Despite winning the competition in the last two seasons, the Frenchman scored just five Champions League goals across the two seasons, so he should improve his European goalscoring rate in his first campaign for Liverpool.
Betting apps are offering 9/5 on him scoring at any time, or you can get a whopping 80/1 on him scoring another hat-trick. The safest play is to back him to bag any time.
Fenerbahce vs Liverpool prediction 2: Barcola to score - 9/5 Coral
Fenerbahce:Mason Greenwood is a doubt for the home side after missing the weekend's match due to illness. Nathan Ake is definitely out, as is the man who previously replaced him, Peprah Oppong.
Liverpool:The Reds are still without long-term absentees Conor Bradley (knee), Hugo Ekitike (achilles) and Giovanni Leoni (knee), while Jeremie Frimpong (hamstring) will also miss out.
Fenerbahce:Ederson; Semedo, Skriniar, Demir, Brown; Kante, Guendouzi; Aydin, Kahveci, Akturkoglu; Muriqi.
Liverpool:Alisson; Araujo, Jacquet, Van Dijk, Kerkez; Gravenberch, Mac Allister; Gakpo, Wirtz, Barcola; Isak.
