Kansas State tight end Linkon Cure entered the program all sorts of huge expectations last season.
He was the school's first five-star recruit in program history . The Wildcats won the recruiting war with several other powerhouses, including the Oregon Ducks . Cure was said to be a player who could contribute once he stepped on campus but things didn't go according to plan.

He caught just six passes for 37 yards. His freshman season was slowed because of toe and knee injuries. This season should give him more opportunity to live up to his hyped billing.
It won't be easy, though.
The Wildcats already have an exceptional talent at tight end in Garrett Oakley , who had a breakout last year. He had 38 receptions for 389 yards and six touchdowns. Despite the success, the Wildcats still plan to do everything possible to get Cure involved. He is too talented to sit. He needs playing time, especially in this transfer portal era where players are allowed to freely leave for better opportunities.
So expect Cure to at least be given a chance to show he's ready to meet those high expectations.

AVERY RATES HIGH ON VIDEO GAME
Kansas State quarterback Avery Johnson gets most of the attention because he is generally considered the team's best player.
So, naturally, he received the most love on the EA Sports College Football video game this season. A senior, Johnson was given a rating of 88 on the classic game. He is back for one final season to see if he can lead the Wildcats to a Big 12 championship and a spot in the College Football Playoff.
Tight end Garrett Oakley was the second-highest rated at 87.
Other top players include:
Offensive lineman John Pastore 84
Receiver Jaron Tibbs 84
Defensive lineman Wendell Gregory 85
